Sweeping Changes in Haiti's Diplomatic Missions

In a significant shake-up of Haiti's diplomatic corps, Foreign Minister Dominique Dupuy has initiated the recall of more than ten ambassadors from their posts worldwide. These recall orders, recently approved by Prime Minister Garry Conille, mark a substantial reorganization within the Haitian chancellery.

Among the high-profile diplomats affected by this decision are:

Josué Dahomey Ambassador of Haiti to Paris, Wedlyne Pierre Ambassador of Haiti to Chile, Euvrard Saint Amand Ambassador of Haiti to the United Kingdom, Jesse Jean Ambassador of Haiti to Belgium, Justin Viard Representative of Haiti in Geneva, Josué Jean Chargé d’Affaires of Haiti in Morocco, Roody Stanley Penn Ambassador of Haiti to Taiwan, Vilbert Bélizaire Ambassador of Haiti to Argentina, Lesly Benoit Ambassador of Haiti to Vietnam, Luc Harvey Jean Pierre Chargé d'Affaires in the Dominican Republic.

A report from the human resources department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs (MAEC) indicated that several members of the diplomatic service do not have the necessary skills to occupy the positions they have held for several years. The majority of these diplomats are protégés of former parliamentarians, ex-presidents, and ministers. Other diplomats who have been stationed for many years in missions will be transferred. This specifies that Foreign Minister Dominique Dupuy also wishes to ensure respect for male/female parity, a priority of her mandate, with the promotion of several women to various positions.
