Rameau Normil proudly announced that elite elements of the National Police had successfully taken back control of Port-au-Prince's main hospital the previous Sunday. This strategic victory marks a crucial step in the ongoing battle against gang dominance in the capital. Normil's declaration that "the gangs' reign is over" resonated strongly, instilling hope among the populace and reaffirming the police's commitment to reclaiming territories from gang control.
