Dominique Dupuy's Vigorous Campaign Against Corruption in Haiti's Foreign Ministry and Diplomatic Missions

In a bold and unprecedented move, Haiti's Foreign Minister Dominique Dupuy has launched a rigorous campaign to root out corruption within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) and its embassies and consulates around the world. This initiative is validated by Prime Minister Garry Conille.
Minister Dupuy's first major step involved the cancellation of all last-minute appointments made by her predecessor, Jean Victor Généus. This includes the notable reversal of Geneviève Louis Jeune's appointment as Consul at the Consulate General of Haiti in Suriname. Geneviève Louis Jeune is the wife of former Deputy Levaillant Louis Jeune, adding a layer of complexity and potential political implications to Dupuy's decision.
This decisive action was followed by the immediate recall of 13 ambassadors and chargés d'affaires, with indications that more dismissals are imminent.
Minister Dupuy has also sought the expertise of Haiti's Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC) and the Higher Court of Accounts and Administrative Litigation (CSCCA). In a formal request to the Director General of ULCC, she has called for a comprehensive audit and investigation into the ministry's central office and all diplomatic missions, covering the period from 2021 to 2024.
