Laetisia Belizaire Named Chief of Mission at the Consulate General of Haiti in Miami

by Adma Riche

In a significant reshuffle within Haiti’s diplomatic corps, Laetisia Belizaire has been appointed as the new Chief of Mission at the Consulate General of Haiti in Miami. Belizaire succeeds Consul General Mario Chouloute, who has been recalled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of a broader strategy to refresh the country's diplomatic representation.

Belizaire's appointment marks a notable moment for Haitian diplomacy, reflecting the Ministry's new direction under the leadership of Minister Dominique Dupuy, who has emphasized the importance of promoting talent from within the ranks and increasing the representation of women in diplomatic roles and sees Belizaire's elevation as a step towards achieving these goals.

As the new Chief of Mission, Belizaire will be responsible for overseeing consular services, fostering bilateral relations, and engaging with the Haitian diaspora in Miami.
